Mannequin Pussy New braunfels Concert reviews
My New Favorite Concert
I must say, the outstanding featured musicians, including drum and saxophone soloists, Rod Stewart, and Cyndi Lauper, truly impressed me with their talent and beauty. I've always been a bigger fan of Rod than of Cyndi, but only because I took her for granted. Now, when I coincidentally found a mixed-tape (CD) of Cyndi at a thrift store a few weeks ago, I hear once again that voice of hers, which has been so comfortably familiar. I can appreciate how exquisite it is now -- the subtle trills, all the lusty and soulful nuances of her melodious instrument. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't cheer so much and would hope others would do the same. Applause and such overpowered the sound from the stage at times. All in all, I'd say the performers behaved more like mature, appreciative adults than we in the audience who showed out like spoiled kids, and wore out early. I wish I could have stayed to be sure I heard the very last song, and to press for an encore, but pressing obligations forced me to head out around 10:15. Oddly enough, others of the audience seemed to take the same idea to try to get out ahead of traffic. I'm delighted that we heard as much of the beautiful music as we did, and I just wonder how loudly we, the audience, were singing.
